March 15, 2023

This excellent New Yorker piece by Jessica Winter outlines the major barriers in identifying, diagnosing and treating women with postpartum psychosis: limited knowledge about the potentially fluctuating nature of the symptoms,  lack of education among health care providers, limited access to consistent, quality, expert care, and new Moms’ fears of reporting symptoms. These gaps lead to tragic outcomes for new parents and their families.
