BRIA is not an urgent care service. Since we only offer virtual services, we do not offer care to those with an acute mental illness who are better seen in a hospital or in-person setting.
This includes:
People in crisis
People who have been admitted to a psychiatric hospital within the past 3 months
People who are suicidal or who have been treated for suicidality in the past 3 months
People in a manic episode or who have been manic in the past 3 months
People who have active psychotic symptoms or an untreated psychotic illness
People with active substance use concerns, or who have had active concerns over the past 3 months
If you are in crisis, please go to the nearest emergency department, call 911, or call or text 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline.
We have created the MINI Mental Health Assessment to be your starting point with BRIA. There are many benefits to starting with the MINI:
You can book a MINI directly here, or by pasting this URL into your browser: https://betterbria.janeapp.com/#/mini-mental-health-assessment .
Generally, BRIA staff do not write letters for medical sick leaves or accommodations in the workplace. The reason to get care at BRIA is to get the services to support your recovery and to help you feel better so that you can function at your best, at home and at work.
No! You can start by booking a MINI Mental Health Assessment directly. You will then be given an individualized Care Plan, which may include recommendations for a more in-depth hormone or mental health assessment. You can book the MINI here.
You can start right away by self-booking BRIA therapies, sleep support, or care with our Registered Dietitian. Book those services directly here.
At BRIA, we understand the potentially complex challenges and stresses of midlife. BRIA clinicians have extensive experience treating women going through perimenopause and menopause, and will provide evidence-based treatments with empathy.
During our MEDI comprehensive hormone assessment, a BRIA nurse clinician will assess your physical and mental health concerns and may prescribe menopause hormone therapy. Since many women struggle with depression and anxiety in perimenopause and menopause, you may also get a MAXI mental health assessment to address your mental health needs.
In addition, you can start individual therapy, couples therapy or sex therapy. Our mental health providers are “Menopause Mental Health Certified by BRIA.” You can also book sleep support here or get advice from our expert Registered Dietitian here.
